Privacy.
There is no account here and no signup, so there is very little to tell you. This page lists everything, including the parts that are boring.
What never leaves your device
- The game itself. Every match, solo or two player on one device, runs entirely in your browser. No beat, tap or result is sent anywhere.
- What the opponent learns about you. The model that reads your habits is built fresh in your browser each match and is gone when you close the tab. It is never uploaded and never stored.
What we keep, and only if you choose to
- A handle and a score, if you post one to the board. That is a name you typed and two numbers. Pick a handle that is not your real name if you would rather stay anonymous, because the board is public.
- A rate limit record. To stop one person flooding the board we store a one way hash of your IP address with the current minute, and it is only ever used to count writes. The raw address is never written down and never logged.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. There is no advertising network on this site, no third party tracker, and nothing that follows you to another site.
Cookies
None. The site sets no cookies at all, which is why you have never seen a banner here.
Online matches
If you play a stranger over a share link, your taps and their taps pass through our server for the length of that match so the beats can be judged fairly. Nothing about the match is stored after it ends.
Removing something
Mail security@thelickman.com with the handle and we will delete the row. There is nothing else of yours to delete.
Plain English on purpose, and it describes what the code actually does. If you find a place where the site behaves differently from this page, that is a bug and we want to hear about it.
